The 3rd event in the Highland Safaris Heavyweight Leagues takes place at Alyth Agricultural Show on Saturday. With Lorne Colthart now recovered from his tonsils operation he will be keen to make up for missing the first two events. The competition should be good between Lorne, Stuart Anderson the current League leader who was also last years League champion, Pete Hart , 7 points behind in 2nd place and David Colthart jnr lying 3rd a further 9 points behind.

 

Last weekend Stuart and Lorne were in the prizes in the open events at both Helensburgh on Saturday and Strathmore on Sunday while David jnr tied for 1st place in the junior competition at Strathmore.

 

Dancers will also be out at Alyth. There is no separate confined event but prizes won will count. No Adult competition either, so League leader Rachel McLagan will be unable to add to her points total this weekend.

 

So far in the Junior Piping League there has been just one competition at the Atholl Gathering, but there will be a Piping competition at Kenmore in 3 weeks times so come on pipers lets have a good competition.
